Chemical Peel (Tricholoracetic Acid)

Procedure: Restoration of wrinkled, blemished, unevenly pigmented, or sun-damaged facial skin, using a chemical solution to peel away skin's top layers.

Length: 1 to 2 hours for full face

Anesthesia/Hospitalization: None, may use supercooling device to desensitize the skin.

Side Effects: Temporary tingling, swelling, redness, throbbing; acute sensitivity to sun.

 

 
   

Risks: You may temporarily develop t iny whiteheads or infection. Scarring may occur, and some patients experience a flare of skin allergies, fever blisters, or cold sores.

Recovery: Skin healing within 5 to 10 days.

Duration of Results: Results are variable and temporary, with most visible results occurring with fair, thin skin with superficial wrinkles.
