Insurance

The cosmetic procedures you are considering will enhance your self image and likely improve your quality of life, but they are not covered by medical insurance. We encourage you to schedule a free consultation with Dr. Gray's nurse, at which time you may view a DVD, ask questions, and receive written educational information. There is a fee for your initial consultation with Dr. Gray, but not for further visits leading to surgery. Dr. Gray requires at least two visits prior to surgery so that both he and his patient have a good understanding of each other's expectations. Fees for procedures vary from individual to individual depending upon exactly what needs to be done. At the time of your consultation, you will be provided with a total of these fees, including hospital charges. These fees are expected in advance of surgery. For your convenience, we accept Discover, Mastercard and Visa. Financing through Capital One is also available. Contact Us

Most reconstructive surgeries performed after cancer or trauma are covered by insurance. We will file your insurance for you in most cases. Dr. Gray is a preferred provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.

Some surgeries require pre-approval by the insurance company prior to surgery. Breast reduction surgery and surgery after massive weight loss are often approved for coverage when patients meet a predetermined set of criteria established by individual insurance companies. We are happy to assist in submitting this information to the insurance companies. We are able to file most insurances for you. Dr. Gray is a preferred provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.

Cosmetassure

The aesthetic or cosmetic procedure you are considering is an “elective” procedure. The procedure itself is not covered by insurance. While complications are rare, cosmetic surgery is a medical procedure and there are certain events during and after your surgery that could require medical attention. Dr. Gray participates in Cosmetassure, a program that provides post-surgery insurance coverage for certain circumstances should the need for post surgical medical attention arise. Only surgeons certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery can provide this coverage for their patients.
